Thanks for the link . It sounds very interesting and I can totally see why
Pixar is making this bold move .

My first thought was "...but will it plug-in to Blender?" .

I'm guessing "Yes" , in time it will , of course .

However , this poor guy who has been banging his head against the wall for
years says "NO!!!" .

Here is a link to a 3 month old discussion going on in the Blender community -
http://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/2743qx/pixars_renderman_now_available_for_free/

This link is much more interesting of course , and it mentions options and
possibilities in the rendering
pipeline , which may (with any luck) become viable .

So , in this same ground-breaking thread you mention your continual needs ...
this time for a good , high-quality
Mac modeler ? Yes , RS has let you down once/yet/always again (please get used
to it and then simply move on) .

So anyway , what was your experience with 'Z-Brush' (why am I getting sucked
into this RS 3D bullshit yet again)?

I've never even tried it but people I talked to years&years ago who were
beta-testing it said it was fantastic . As
a matter of fact a few of those that jumped on-board when it was free and then
showcased their resulting work
actually made a name for themselves , and then a resulting full career of some
sort or another in 3D .

My god, this is gonna change the industry or what is left of it.
Included in the deal, a fabulous shader creating
tool.http://renderman.pixar.com/view/slim-shader-tool

Maybe CombadZ has a future after all?
It is my intuition that it would be quick and easy to make RS fully functional
with Renderman. But is there a market?
----------------Will there ever be a 64bit version of the latest RS for mac one
day?I am in need of a good modeler.
