Right now a link can be added by anyone at any time by
any (registered) user, and posts later in the thread inherit this
link.  The viewpoint is that the link is a point of association,
and not necessarily to be regarded as part of the content
of the post.   Sounds like you would argue that it should
be, and maybe you're right... I'm not really certain on this
point.
