Agreed.

So we'd have to save contact name and email address -- unless...

...but this means that all of those contact people will have
accounts on the site, doesn't it? Then it would be more elegant
to use the record owner's name and email address on the Midgard
site.
Well, another field for the contact name is no additional work,
I'll just include it for the first release. Another feature that
will be included is editorial approval -- newly submitted links
won't publicly appear before an editor has approved them. Maybe
I'll have a configuration directive to switch this behaviour off
if not needed. But it implies a simple editing interface for
those link records -- I'm only not sure whether I'll manage to
release it as quality code with documentation with the first
midhoo package (which I privately announced for the end of
January just before one of my team members came up with the
approval idea ;-)).

Agreed. I thought about language snippets with string classes,
similar to Asgard -- but as I have yet to have a real close look
on Asgard's localization concepts I'm not sure how much of it I
will borrow. On the one hand, I'd like to implement a general
concept which could also be used in more complex apps (as in the
rest of the Midgard website), but on the other I'd like to Keep
It Small & Simple (or so). Not finally decided, indeed.
