Yes, that is the project I was referring to and yes again, the revisions should be a part of version 3.8 as far as I am aware. From what I do remember, the work undertaken was at quite a fundamental level and did include a revision of the Escher layer objects. Since it was completed, I have not needed to work with images again and so have not looked closely to see what the changes were but it may be the case - that is may -m that it is now possible to simply and directly link from escher to picture. If my very dodgy, aging memory is accurate, that was the problem we faced before; getting the preferred size from the picture gave us duff info but getting the escher records allowed us to establish the image's actual size. However, at that point in time it was not possible - at least it was not a trivial task - to work out which chunk of the escher records related to which picture. Maybe that has changed now. I do not know if this is the case but feel it might be worth looking into.
