I went into edit mode for the form, clicked on the field of interest (so that green squares appeared surrounding it) and then "entered the group" by going to Format -> Group -> Enter Group. When I then right-clicked on the field, it gave me a variety of options none of which was "Properties". So I tried all the drop-down windows on the upper panel, but could not find an option for "properties". Could you explain further, how to find "properties" to see the settings for the field in question? > If the dates are in a grid control, then you can right click on the > column header and also see what formatting you have applied. I don't understand the terminology you have used here. Are you still referring to the design view for the Form? What is "grid control"? Your reference to a "column header" makes me think you may be referring to the table view here and not the form. But when I right click on the column header in the table view, there is no option to see what formatting has been applied. > It would > seem to me that the field is formatted with a date property, but since > the field definition is text, Base is interpreting your text the best it > can to convert that text into a pseudo date that it displays on the > screen. What you say in this last section makes perfect sense to me, but I have been unable to verify yet whether it is in fact the case with my problem, due to my confusions mentioned above.
