I have no idea whether 2.4 or 3.0dev will solve your problems, if indeed
the behaviour you describe is a problem at all, or just a design
implementation ;-). For as long as 3.0 isn't declared "stable", then I
wouldn't use it to do work you absolutely have to rely on, but that's
just my own form of paranoia, and 2.4 has some bugs in it that were
introduced as a result of improving performance issues in 2.3...Like
most things, it all depends what you can live with and whether you
absolutely want to dice with potential data death or not :-)
By right-clicking on it, I get an option for "size and position". And
I've corrected the height and width to match the other fields-- although
the distance between the field name and the data entry window is still
too big, and I don't see where the parameter is to adjust that.
As for font, color, background-- I do not see where these options are in
the right-click menu. Would you kindly give me a tip?
Yes, judging from your reply, I would say you haven't entered the group
that is made up of the label and the field control. When you right click
on the grouped control, and choose Edit, you can only access a limited
subset of properties. In your context menu, you should however see an
entry entitled Group > Enter group (I'm speaking from memory here, don't
have OOo open). This should enable you to choose which control you
really want to edit, the label or the field control. Right clicking on
the field control will give you access to the properties you are looking
for.
