I fixed your findings from the first snapshot as well as added support
for variables.
I am now wondering if we should add the colors to the
Tools-Options-Appearance dialog. On the one side for sure, but on the
other side, I am not too sure about it. The list gets longer and longer,
and it is really used? There are also wishes for syntax highlighting in
equation editor of writer, these colors would then be added as well.
There might be colors which are known to be not difficult for eye
handicapped persons, but I don't know about this.
Maybe discuss with UX and or someone from accessibility?
