Olá,
Two questions.
Is not the MySQL Workbench open source software?
I think so.
Could we steal some of that functionality?
No, the difference is that we want to offer this not only for MySQL.
Good morning,
I was looking specifically at the detail items:
*relation designer: filter on the displayed tables (i.e. deleting tables
from the view without actually dropping all their relationships)
*in-place change of the design of a table (imagine the "table" windows
in the relation designer having an additional "new column" entry, and
the like)
*printing (of the relation design)
It would need extended to include:
display all relationships between queries, views, forms, reports (so you
e.g. see which report is based on which query/table)
exporting (the relation design) to some Draw format
The detail item "different such views (managed by the DB user/designer)"
I think is a special case all together.
Granted - I was really only thinking of the UI and adding the ability to
work with multiple back ends. IIRC the package that the workbench is
based on - I think I have a copy still on my machine - did support
multiple targets, not just MySQL - or at least the developers where gong
to do so.
Anyway, just thought it might be a place to start from - but perhaps it
would be more work then starting from scratch when all is said and done.
Best regards,
Drew
