Last I heard of a British English version it was withdrawn because it
was quite badly broken and fixing it wasn't on the radar.
There has been some debate about the release of an English version of
OOo, but our fellow Europeans would seem to prefer the American dialect
to Standard English, probably because ultimate ownership of Star
Division is now in California.
Before I'm flamed by any Americans, I've worked for several US
corporations (and had a hand in selling a lot of Sun systems) and I love
the country and it's people: I just have a bee in my bonnet with our
so-called brothers in Europe and their preference for a non-European
flavour of our language.
Where do you find mirrors for OOo? Are there links from the OOo web
site? Where please?
The starting point is here:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#extmirrors
and my favourite is in Göttingen:
http://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/openoffice/
It's always up to date and reliable.
Also, "./extended" sounds like *nix. I'd need a Windows version as, I
think, would the OP.
Even Windows uses the dot and double notation for current and preceding
directories. All the flavours are stored in a common directory
structure, so finding the Windows versions is a breeze.
Is there one? Where please? The UK Mirror Service site
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.openoffice.org/stable/2.4.1/
doesn't even have a "extended" directory.
As mentioned in Dave Barton's post, yes it does. Just go up a couple of
levels and you're there.
