None of the laptops I looked at today included DVD burners. OTOH,
inasmuch as they all shipped with an OS that was defective by design,
and those defects are proudly trumpeted as features, that absence is
hardly surprising.
Most of the lightweight laptops ("netbooks") running Linux, and the
MacBook Air, do not have DVD drives, either. (I'm assuming neither of
those are the o/s you had in mind.)
