I have a small business.
I have an inventory made in OO spreadsheet.
I want to open a second OO spreadsheet to make some calculations for
my taxes so I want to be able to refer to the first spreadsheet, but
OO won't let me open a second spreadsheet. Why not?
When I try to open a 2nd blank spreadsheet, it just pulls up the first
that is already open. If I close the first and open a blank one and
try to open the other one, the blank one goes away.
OOo opens each spreadsheet in its own window, not several in the same
window. I *think* that your new spreadsheet is being hidden behind the
old one because the windows are the same size. Try resizing the new one
and I think the old one will appear from behind it. If you are using the
Windows Operating System, you could also *right* click in the Task Bar
and choose Tile Windows Horizontally or Tile Windows Vertically to make
each spreadsheet automatically take up half the screen - assuming you
have no other programs running; if you do, minimise them before tiling
the OOo windows.
In any case, OOo certainly have open several different spreadsheets
and/or text documents (Writer) documents and/or presentations.
Performance may start to suffer if you have many documents open with
limited memory and swap space.
