I have found a workaround that I thought would be good to document here in case this issue bites someone else. If you add a space at the end of the longest expression in your stack it will make the right bracket print correctly - that is, just bold, not superfat bold. Some of my formulas needed more than one space - one formula needed five wide spaces before it would print correctly. And the formula looks odd with all the extra space to the right of the stack, but it looks better than no bold at all or the superfat bold.
