PDF documents created by OO are fully searchable.
And how many recruiters or HR departments are prepared to search them?
Many of them place the resumes into a database, which they then search
for qualifications. I have had interviews, where I could see my resume
in front of the interviewer and it looked nothing like what I had
submitted, because it was pulled from the database and not just a print
out of what I had submitted.
Presactly. They can make your CV say anything *they* like either
deliberately or because their software is poor. Much less chance of
being misrepresented if you send PDF.
If you submit a resume in a form the
employer or recruiter is not prepared to handle, it may be discarded
without consideration. Also, if you submit your resume via a web site,
it will tell you acceptable formats, which are usually .DOC or plain text.
If they specify a list of acceptable formats then it's up to you. You
either conform or take the attitude that you don't want to work for
these people. Nil illegitimi carborundum.
