Yes I insist :-)
I am on Ubuntu 8.04 with vanilla OOo 3.1.1 FR/US and OOO320_m4 US/FR.

Yes for display date format, but it should be different for input date
format in case it would be implemented.
The date format I use should be independant of the document in the same
way the decimal separator is. I can open and modify a spreadsheet with
comma as decimal separator and send it to you who opens the file and
sees numbers with a dot as decimal separator.
>From my point of view, the input date format is User Interface only
while the display date format is part of the formatting of the document.
