Use The Intel version for Mac OS X v10.5.8. The PowerPC version
will not work on his Mac. When you download the file, it will be a *.dmg
file. Double click it which opens a window with some icons. Two of those
icons is the Applications folder and the OpenOffice.org.app file. Drag
this file onto the Applications folder to install OOo. Close the window.
Click on the desktop and then type these keys simultaneously: Apple
key + N. The Apple keys have a picture of an apple on it. The left side
of the window that opens has a list of locations on your Mac. One of
them has the same name as the new icon that appeared earlier. After this
name is the Eject button. Click the Eject button to remove the icon.
Then close the window.
