Lines 1 and three work .... line two does not!! And what I find even stranger ... if I fill in a few more rows and copy the WORKING formula down the appropriate column ... it doesn't work in a recurring pattern!! see here www.masse.us/test_sheet2.ods FYI the comma in $10,00 - in the quoted section below - from my original post is a mistype, but is not in the original sheet.
