I am using Windows XP SP2, and OOo 2.0.4.
I downloaded and installed on my system (using Settings > Control Panel
> Fonts etc) a special font consisting of orienteering symbols. A bit
more information about it is available at
http://www.ecko.org.uk/font.html It is a .ttf font. I did a system
restart after installing.
OOo recognizes the font as far as showing it on the list of fonts
available. However, when I attempt to use the font, it does not show the
symbols that it is supposed to, instead just showing letters, numbers, etc.
I went into WordPad and tried the font and it works fine. It shows the
orienteering symbols like it is supposed to. I also tried it with
NotePad and it works fine there also.
I'm really pretty ignorant about the inner workings of fonts, having had
no need up to now to learn much about them. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to why this font isn't working? Thanks for your help.
