I am using open office writer 2.0. However as I want to print labels for Avery #

AS I create the infomation to the template, then I want to print the info onto
the labet does not line up properly. I am using a HP 400 printer. The print
info 1 line is too high on the 1st line to the 2nd last of labels on the last
it only prints the top line. this is at font # 6.
I decided to check this out in OOo 2.1 linux, and what I found was
somewhat surprising. Note: could be that I have added a label template
from an older version of OOo and from the templates created by a third
party... not sure how to check.
1. I did File|New|Labels and set up "Avery Letter" "Size 8167 Ink jet
Return Address".
2. I left everything as default & only entered return address in the
Label text box, then clicked "New Document".
The wizard created the document, but all of the text was in Times New
Roman 12 point font. The labels overran the page as the OP pointed out;
so I thought, heck just do "Edit|Select All| and change all of the fonts
to Arial 8 or 10 point. As it turns out, each label is a separate
*frame* and "Select All" only selects the text in the first frame (as
would be expected in a frame). Therefore you can't just simply Select
All and change the fonts in the other labels, or have the change ripple
through the other labels as in the Mail Merge macro... you have to
change each frame individually.
There is a way of changing the font size etc. without changing each
frame individually. Right click on a word and select Paragraph Style (or
something to that effect). Then change the font size. (Note: When you
right click on a word, it can't be a word that is being shown as
mis-spelled, because you would get the "spelling" context menu and not
have the opportunity to change the style.)
This seems pretty odd to me. I can't imagine why the template would be
set up using frames instead of a table.
