OpenOffice (OO) Writer can open WordPerfect files but I'm not sure which
versions OO can handle. It can also save files in MS Word format. So you
might well be able to do WordPerfect -> OpenOffice -> MS Word.
You can install and use OO completely free of charge so it won't cost
you anything to try. You might even like it; it does most things MS
Office does (OO Writer competes with Word, Calc with Excel, Impress with
Powerpoint and Base with Access) and does many of them better (including
free support from this mail list ;-) ). Microsoft is working hard to
make its latest Office software compatible with the International
Standards Organisation's Open Document Format used natively by OpenOffice.
