Unicode characters are, in fact, easily available in OOo ; the only difference between the input method discussed in ISO-14755 and that used in OOo is that instead of «Ctrl + Shift + typing «xxxx» (hexcode for the desired glyph)», in the former, in the latter a slightly more complicated procedure, «Ctrl + Shift + u», release, type «xxxx» then «Space», must be performed to produce it. Thus in OOo, «Ctrl + Shift + u», followed by typing 2190 and then «Space» gives ←. What seems to have happened is that John Jason inadvertently de-activated this procedure in OOo, but not in his Feisty setup as a whole. For me it continues to work in OOo as well, on a Feisty boot on AMD 64 X 2. Whatever can John Jason have done ?...
