Without even finding out why? <quote> *I am considering using Open Office* </quote> > > OpenOffice Write is a word processor. Scribus is a desktop > publishing program. Two different programs for two different jobs. And Publisher is nothing more than a quasi-DTP that attempts to make up for MS Office's lack of frame and style ability. Ever try to import a Publisher file into Word? > >> Do both of you sincerely believe that you can't do a newsletter, >> tri-fold brochure, flyer, or similar in OOo? > > You can, but it's easier to do it with Scribus. Neither of you bothered to find out just what the 'job' is before sending her off to Scribus. > > You can pound nails with a screwdriver, too, but I would recommend > that you get a hammer for that. And I'd definitely recommend Scribus for a proper DTP requirement. I use it, I like it, and I highly recommend it. However, nobody knows what Linda currently uses Publisher for, so how can you recommend a hammer if she really may need a screwdriver afterall? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
