a) The real issue is _How crippled is the Version of Windows Vista
that you are using?_

OOo will work with Windows Vista, _IF_, and only _IF_ you are using a
version of Windows Vista that is not functionally crippled so as to be
unusable.

IOW, if you are using any version other than:
* Windows Vista Ultimate Limited Edition;
* Windows Vista Ultimate Edition;
* Windows Vista Enterprise Edition;
your productivity will be negatively affected, due to the "Defective
By Design" philosophy that Microsoft has its fundamental, guiding
philosophy.

b) Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are components of Microsoft Office. If
that is what you were attempting to download, then:
* You weren't downloading OOo from the openoffice.org website, or any
of its mirrors;
* You need to contact thte organization who runs the website from
which you were attempting to download Microsoft Office;

c) If you meant Write, Calc, and Impress, instead of Word, Excell, and
Powerpoint, I'll simply point out that the latter three (Word, Excel,
Powerpoint) are registered trademarks of Microsoft, and as such, their
usage to refer to other products is, at best, inappropriate. At
worst, it is a civil offense, that can result in you paying several
thousand dollars in damages for trademark violation.

d) When you said you "tried" you didn't give enough details. Describe
each step that you took, and any message that appeared when you took
that step.

OOo can not correct for incompetence in creating documents from MSO.
Furthermore,OOo can not compensate for the defective and flawed
security measures used by Microsoft. As such, before using this product
for exams that require faulty and defective software, ensure that you
will not be unjustly penalized for the incompetence of the organization
that requires the use of software that is known to be flawed,
defective, bug-ridden, and fails to meet ISO file format standards.
