The prof requires it because there is and editing function that she has that only works with 2003.doc. Every format I have tried to submit has not worked with her editing software.

I don't know if the .DOC format in Word 2003 is different from earlier recent versions of Word. If the class absolutely requires Word 2003, I guess you'll have to buy it (if you still can), but I cannot understand why that instructor is so restrictive. If anyone were to buy a new computer these days, they certainly wouldn't have it and I just checked a major office supply store and they don't have anything older than Office 2007. -- Use OpenOffice.org
