The solution to this one Amy is to save from OpenOffice.org to .doc
format as per normal.

Take the saved file to School/Uni on disk or email it to your school
email.

Open it in Word 2003 at school. Make one change (add then delete a
space)

Then resave in Word 2003 .doc format under a different name.

The benefits of using this method are:
 o You get to check it still looks as you intended before submitting
(Minor variations between OO.o rendering in .doc format and Word
rendering in .doc format have lost people points in exams etc.).
 o You give your tutor what they require.
 o You get to use your Word Processor of choice at home and the school
gets to continue with it's (mal)practise of vendor lockin[1][2].
 o It cost's you nothing but a little extra time.
