For all those who wrote in April 2007 about whether OO will run in
vista, it
doesn't. I spent 2 hours downloading it, only to be told "Wrong OS or OS
Version". So now I am spending another 2 hours downloading the 3.0beta
version because I cannot find anywhere on the OO.org site whether the
3.0beta will run on Vista Business 32. Stay tuned, you're likely to hear
more from me as the research continues .....
OpenOffice.org 2.4 does work in Vista. In fact, OpenOffice.org has
worked in Vista since 2.2.
To find the system requirements, click the Download tab on the upper
right of the main OpenOffice.rog website, and then on the right, click
on System Requirements. That will lead you to this page:
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/sys_reqs_20.html
Where are you going to download OpenOffice.org 2.4? There is only one
download for OpenOffice.org for Windows.. there is no special version
for Vista... it is the same version of OpenOffice.org for all
supported Windows versions.
What is the exact filename of the file you are trying to install from
for OpenOffice.org 2.4... the one that tells you Wrong OS or OS
Version when you try to install it?

To Charlie, et al: Not necessarily true as even MSFT has publicly
stated! Again, you need a real computer guru to get Vista working
correctly, even before putting any other program on the OS. :-(
