Yes, I am using xp. I thought, from the structure of the forum signup, that this particular board was only for xp users and so did not specify that.
Yes, it is the total obscurity of the selection method that stopped me. Nevertheless, I just went through the custom install and tried my best to select everything. I cannot find any programs. It has not created icons, it does not open Word files as I specified, I can find no help files and I can find no program files. The alleged size of the installed program is 34 mb with an additional 13 mb for options. This seems too small to me. The actuall size of everything it installed is about 339 mb (339,226,947 bytes). I am completely baffled by this. What I am experiencing here, plus having the wrong pdf file for installation instructions, is what makes me skeptical. However, I really do want to try it as I am very unhappy with ms office. Any additional help you or anyone else can offer will be most welcome.
