If I was sent this as an answer to my install problem, I am sorry, it
hasn't. My problem is, every time I double click on the icon to open the file I get
the install wizard, It has been installed at least five times. My question,
what can I do. I have all of the features in the file, I just can't get to
them.
The file you have received is only for installing. So however many times
you click on it, it will indeed install OpenOffice.org, but will not
open OpenOffice.org.
Presuming you are using Windows, go to the Start Menu after installing
and you should find a new folder in the “All programs” menu called
“OpenOffice 2.4". Within this folder are icons for the various modules
of OpenOffice.
You can copy these icons to your desktop if you want them there.
Click on one of these icons, say “OpenOffice.org Writer”, to start
OpenOffice.org.
Once you start up one of the modules, you will find, by default that it
will place an OpenOffice.org Quick Starter icon on the Windows Toolbar
which you can also use to start an OpenOffice module. This icon will
reappear every time you start Windows. You can change this internally if
you don’t like it. Some people don’t, because it does take up some memory.
Again, as already suggested, see
http://download.openoffice.org/common/instructions.html .
