For some reason my default is set to Avery A4, but as mentioned in my
other post, once set to a label run (i.e., you've created a new set of
labels) it then defaults to the last used. You'd have to use a new OOo
profile to see the A4 default & it doesn't matter what printer the
system is set for, the default is Avery A4

I'm using version 2.4.1 (OxygenOffice) on my machine. You are right
about about the Label A4 default. However, after I changed it to Letter
on my machine the setting stuck through several re-boots. So OOo should
remember your choice.
