Scott,
According to my "speed" spreadsheet ... if this was a 4th gear roll on
you would have been doing 7400 RPM at 100 mph ... if this was a 5th
gear roll on you would have been doing 6350 RPM ... I doubt this was a
3rd gear roll on as you would have been a hair over 9200 RPM at 100
mph and on likely going back down anyhow ...

Without knowing a few other things It would be helpful to know what
gear they were doing this roll on in ... IE ... if this was a 4th gear
roll on ... and you flattened out at 100 mph / 7400 RPM this is the
point where your needles should be fully retracted and you are
depending entirely on your main jets, (this "is" the top end) .... and
I would wonder if all the slides had the ability to retract fully,
(like .. not making sure the spring is "outside" the three fingers
that hold them in place on the slide cover will cause them to bind at
the last 1/4 of their travel) ... Pushing them back with your finger
is an easy way to check this ... as you will feel a slight spring bind
if you have this problem. Obviously ... you may have selected the
wrong main jet for your setup, (but it sounds like you have been doing
a lot of testing in that regard all ready) .... How did the end of the
run look ... was the line smooth or a zig-zag ?? If it is smooth you
are too rich ...... Are you running individual filters ?? Did you
recently re-oil them and use too much ?? Etc etc .. you get the idea
..

If this was a 5th gear roll on ... and you were at 6350 RPM at that
100 mph mark ... then I wonder if you are running your Vboost open all
the time or not ... If you are still running Vboost then I wonder if
it is actually working ... if it didn't open .. you would be done for
in the RWHP department not much past this RPM ... and I would expect
to see the results you described ...

Soooooooo ... what do you think ?? Is the Vboost on the blink or do
you need to change the mains, (or fix your slides or air filters ) ??
IMHO of course ... I am sure you will get additional posts ...... give
us some more information ...
