Dennis,
if you have a stg7 installation "trouble shooting" guide you
will find this mentioned as a remedy for the stumble going full throttle
from 2000rpm that clears off after 4000rpm, and is worse the higher the gear
your in.
dynoJet mentions some other bikes that have this problem to a
somewhat greater degree BUT their description of the forces that create it
sure sound familiar. motors with large cam timing overlap figures(vmax),
carbs with stiff slide springs(vmax) and small slide lift holes(vmax). they
mention that this problem usually doesn't surface until you try to change
both the carbs and the pipes on these bikes. who does just one or the other
on the vmax?
i had some of this problem when i first installed the stg.7
and Kerker, pulled the float bowl vent hoses off and it went away.i'm pretty
sure this is a LEAN falter so i suppose removing the vent tubes relieves
some pressure(restriction) in the bowl and lets fuel be drawn more readily.
i could also be wrong about that, i know that it helped in my case and when
i went to the hybrid box i tried it with them reinstalled. real bad,so they
came back off and still are.
there you have it, hope it helps you........steve #1131
