Hi Scott,
on the v-stack issue, i read your post with some interest.
i had actually been under the (obviously) mistaken idea that longer stacks
would make better torque.
you might remember that i'm the guy that has been running
trimmed 4" stock v-stacks inside the stg.7 indiv. filters.
anyway your report got me to wondering....... since i had an
extra set of stacks i went out and cut a set 2" taller than the top of the
carb flange,stuck them in the filters and went for a ride.
AMAZING!! if i lost anything on HP i'm sure that only a dyno
could tell BUT the diff. in torque was noticable right off idle and at
1500rpm in 5th. the real big diff. was on hard accel. through the gears. the
thing is scarry now. thanks for the tip!!
