This is the route I took and the difference in braking
effort is night and day. For a simple (relatively
cheap) bolt on improvement you won't get better than
this. I don't know why Yamaha don't fit the R1
calipers as standard to the Max. I retained the stock
Max master cyclinder and I can lock my front wheel
with two fingers. I have full confidence that my Max
stops as well as it's going to given the weight of the
bike. I also have RaceTech emulators and Progressive
springs at the front with 20w oil. Stock shocks on
the rear and the stock Bridgestones cope well with my
riding style.
