Steve, yes its a "H" rated, but holds up well. A friend went from
Houston to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. in 15 hr's. on his max in the summer
time, thats about 1,300 miles, he got over 13,000 miles riding like
that. The only time its under the ton is in his garage. Yes the 150
maybe be smaller than a 170 or 180 some have put on a too narrow rim,
but works nice. Back when I had stock wheels, I prefered the 591. It
responded well with dirty roads, where others would just brake loose
with no warning, read Avon or Michelin. Drifting the rear? Ever rode a
dirt bike? Same thing. It gets alot of stares! A max has alot of grunt
down low and in the middle, so its easy with the hard tires your stuck
with on a stock wheel. I did some short track in earlier yr's. so I know
what it feels like when the rear is moving around. Where some freak out,
I ride through it. The 110/80-18 will work well, it has a little shorter
side wall. No you won't need to take the rotor off. Now if you had a
17X6.0 rim with a 200 tire, you need to take the drive unit off. That
was with a Kosman wheel and a Michelin tire. A vmax is a hooligan bike
no doubt about it. Life's too short to spend it in the slow lane or on a
potato machine.
