Don I'm not buying into the tyre question, but my problem in Australia is
there are numerous recommended tyres that are simply not imported to this
country.
I'm on my 2nd. rear Avon Super Venom and can't really fault it compared to
the OEM Dunlop Qualifier, cause that's the only comparison I have.
We don't get the Dunlop 591 here in the stock V-Max size, that's what I was
going to try after the first Avon.
We don't get the Metzler ME-880 in the 150 sizes at all, I think only in the
170. I went to the Metzler web site to find the following:
ME-880 sizes-150/80B 15 M/C 70H TL* 10417
150/90B 15 M/C 80H rein. TL 10418
170/80B 15 M/C 77H TL* 10419
Given that if I want to try something other than the Avon next time, I will
have to import them myself (expensive), so what do I buy?
My tyre demands are maximum cornering and straight line grip, mileage or
tyre life is a secondary issue to me, although I don't do burnouts and get
around 6000 miles out of a rear Avon.
Based on what I've seen on the list I can't go wrong with the 591 cause they
are cheap even though they don't have a lot of life, I could buy 2 for one
compared to others. With the Metzlers which of the 150 sizes is recommended?
On the 150/90B what do they mean by "rein TL?" is it reinforced something?
Thanks
