Ahm, I disagree on the above .. but I think it's a user-choice. Most of my software is installed from repositories but I don't absolutely constrain myself to repositories. I never install VBox from the repository. When Frank makes the announcement, I download the .rpm and the Extension Pack. That's my MO. It's not right or better, it just works for me. Perhaps you can start helping your repository maintainer and package the Extension Pack. I don't mean that facetiously. Open Source only works if people volunteer.
