Just my $0.02 worth: brand doesnt matter, chipset does. when it comes to RS232->usb adapters, ones with FTDI chipset are the only ones that consistently deliver, all others are JUNK. And dont use whatever outdated CD comes with the adapters, go to the FTDI web page and download the latest drivers. Thats why in Amazon.com the chipset is identified....
