Jerry: That's the way I feel about deer hair also. I never tie with it but I tie all my Clousers with Buck Tail ( that's about as close as I get to Spinning Deer Hair).
I'm not sure what type of dye they use for the Buck Tails because I don't seem to notice any loss of color in them. Maybe Deer Hair is dyed differently.
