I use... 4 wt for most trout and grayling. 6 wt for larger trout -- lake trout, big browns, dollies, large Kamloops or Alaskan rainbows. 8 wt for most other salmon, steelhead and saltwater fishing. (7 wt when fishing for pinks or smaller sockeye and silvers) 10 wt for king salmon and large steelhead in fast running rivers.
