I have the same problem, but a couple of licks with some 600 grit sandpaper that I've glued to a small piece of cardboard that's always next to my tying bench works for me. And, during the winter, My friend Jergens is always close by... Winter and me don't get along, dry skin and the itchies drive me nuts...
