It sounds like you've got a crowd behind you, ie 'No CA, particularly with natural materials'. That video I mentioned was done in 1994. Perhaps Mr. Talleur has a different opinion as to it's use today. Important to note, however, is that his acceptance of the glue was to enhance the adhesion of the hair fibers on "Practical" flies used for flyfishing. His video was not addressed to tying Atlantic Salmon Flies for show or display purposes. He also used a toothpick to rub the glue into the hairs as well as the thread, which to my eye, was to dry the CA faster without regard to any fraying or damage to the material. Perhaps, this would be acceptable in a "Practical" fly but surely would have no acceptance in a show piece.
