Whatever bobbin works is great..but my personal preference is the automatic bobbin by Norvise..wonderful as it will rewind the thread for you so that your poor old thumb will not get sore when you tie dozens of flies..great for those with arthritis in their hands.  It's only drawback is that you must wind thread off the regular spool and onto this special bobbin..but that is a small price to pay for such wonderful rewind convenience. No longer use other bobbins except for ribbing or woolly nylon. Joyce
