They are specialized on Saltwater? Do you have a link for them?
BTW: I started to use Conranch Hen Saddles for 'Bugger'. Good results!

that's true. I have a hard time sometimes as well, to find larger and webbier hackle - for parachutes and Buggers.
All the new saddles I got, are focused on the smaller, webb free feathers. Whitings Hebert miner saddles seems to go for the larger ones,


but I'm not sure.

Thanks to (almost <G>) all who replied on my question. Hackle size seems

to be a very personal thing. But what are the official proportions for a mayfly, a caddis?

I'm finding that my major problem is finding a wide range of sizes in suitable hackle materials. Many of our fine genetic capes seem to be focused on #14-18. When you need larger or smaller sizes than these, it get's difficult to find them.
