DonO You should already be backing up to a CD. All pictures, All documents, Your email PST or WAB YOU should be upgraded to XP- pro. XP is all right, sort of.
I have worked to save peoples important files only to be frustrated and A dollar sort. You format and reload the system; if it is a software problem then you fixed it. If it is not you'll know it.
