Chris, I had a combination of two problems. Adaware and 'spies' were slowing my pc way down and causing program crashes. I upgraded my spybot program and caught another 30 or so spy cookies.
But a real bug- a miller moth- was jammed in the cpu cooling fan- slowing or stopping it I don't know which, and was causing the whole pc to just stop and re-boot. We re-set the system temps in config-sys, so if it happens again, I'll get an alarm signal. Everything up and running today- no shutdowns and real fast. I LIKE it!!!! A big thanks to everyone that helped with advise! It all was useful. DonO Danny DeVito on lawyers: (movie- "Other People's Money") "Lawyers are like atom bombs. It's good to have just as many as the other guy- as a deterrent, but the last thing you want to do is use them." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Rozmajzl" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, July 23, 2004 1:19 PM Subject: Re: [VFB] heads up - now 'illegal operation' > At 05:02 PM 7/21/2004, you wrote: > >I'm being hit with a bug or virus now that nothing can find.
