Del I ended up selling my Nor-Vise to one of the fellows on the FF@ list. With that vise I would suggest borrowing one for a while before you buy it. I didn’t like the bobbin either, it wasted a lot of thread and I didn’t like having to respool all my thread. Think of the investment you’re making if you want to keep more than a few colors of thread spooled at a time. You tie more creative flies than production flies so I’m not sure it would be the vise for you either. I couldn’t get the tension on the material or the control I like when I used the vise the way it was designed to be used. I can see where someone that ties 4 dozen wooley buggers at time would like it but I don’t think it would even be the best choice for the small wet flies you like to tie. I didn’t like the jaws on the vise either. I think Dyna King has one of the best vises, by far the best jaws on a vise. I like the LAW vise a lot also but the price and the conversion rate doesn’t make that a very practical choice. With the Norvise you either love it or hate it but it’s an expensive investment to make to find out it isn’t the vise for you. Deb

I am thinking about upgrading to a better vice. What do you think about the Nor-Vice?? Praise? Complaints? Comments? Del |
