They are fine as far as I can see. The  "kink" you talk of may be people that use a level length of tippet material. A friend of mine is a casting instructor and explains it as thus: The energy of the cast is transmitted down the fly line. The fly line is tapered and transmits the energy through to the fly allowing it to turn over at the end of the cast. If a level length of nylon is used the energy transfer from the fly line to the tippet material does not transfer in a gradual way but explodes out of the end of the fly line. This makes the cast kick or kink the tippet left or right of the fly line. A tapered leader overcomes this as the enrgy continues to transfer down to the fly and it turns over sweet as  you like. Furled leaders are another excellent way of achieving the same result.   Another reason the loops kink is if too much superglue is applied to the loop after you fix it to the fly line. Just a small drop at the sleeve end should be enough.
