I have been using the Cortland Slip-On Leader Loops attached to my fly line and Air-Flo Poly Leaders with appropriate tippet attached for the past three years without incident. I use the Air-Flo Floating Trout 5 foot leader with 2 to 4 feet of tippet and it has performed quite well for me. The longer the tippet the more "S" curves and the less drag. One Poly leader has served well for the past 3 years and will be on my line next season as well. All are connected with loop-to-loop. I havent had to buty a new leader for 3 years and just keep replacing the tippet.

The nice arrangment with this system is that I can switch from 4X to 7X tippet without having to modify the leader.

I have always used these when I fish and they work very well EXCEPT they
sink.  They become waterlogged and drag the line under.  I am planning
on switching to a direct line-leader link next year.

Who here uses braided loop leader connecters?
I was considering putting it on my 6/7 weight but have heard it kind of
kinks things during the cast?
Just curious what your views are as opposed to connecting the line
directly to the leader.
