It doesn't scare the fish??It doesn't make sense to me that the fish wouldn't shy away from it....almost like having a thick leader cut down from a standard leader. I guess that is why I am so apprehensive. Could it be made from fine nylon??R______________________________________________5/11 Rockbrook Road,East St. Kilda, 3183Melbourne, VictoriaMobile: 0422 266798-----Original Message-----

Subject: Re: [VFB] Anyone into furled leaders??Reuven,I started using "furled leaders" last fall and I'm using them consistently now... They're soft, pliable and have NO retained "memory"... I normally attach about 36" of "tippet" to the end loop of the furled leader, then tie on about 18" of additional "tippet" which I then attach my "dropper" fly... Then another 18" of tippet, tied at the bend of the dropper fly to which I then tie on my "point" fly... Just above the knot attaching the 36" tippet to the first 18" tippet, I attach one #7, 8 or 9 split-shot, just enough to keep my flys below surface... Normally I use a small yarn type "strike indicator" which I attach to the furled leader with a slip knot and it's very easy to adjust up or down, depending on the depth of the water I'm fishing at one and a half times the depth of the water...Rodney...
