John,
I am sure it is a packing foam of some kind but it is
somehow different than any I have used or seen. I have
not used it as spinners so I really can't comment on
that but I don't get any spinning on the upright
wings.
If you get a free sample, Gerry sends a spinner mayfly
with it. I am sure that you can find out if it spins
by trying it.
I have no financial connection, Gerry seems to be a
pretty straight person and if you call him, I am sure
he can fill you in.
