I don't think that TV style ad vlogs will be very successful. I'd
like to see someone try it. I have yet to see one. The model for
this is text blogs which have been around a lot longer and I haven't
seen any that are all ads all the time. Now someone could
theoretically disguise an ad blog as an info blog but I doubt that
that would work very well either. Why? Because the user has more
control in this media than in traditional media. If someone thinks
they are going to crassly pimp a product thru their blog or video
blog no one is going to read or watch that. But say if a company
video blogs or podcasts, or blogs about themselves in an open an
honest way, in a way that says "hey this is a video blog about how
we work" then I think that would get an audiance. And I think that
there would be real value in that to a lot of viewers. I know if say
a company like Apple did that I would deffinately be interested in
seeing that (even though I know it would never happen because it's
against their culture to do these kind of things). The thing is that
it's important to remember that this is about communication and in
order to do that well you have to have a conversation. Conversations
go at least 2 ways and traditional TV advertising, because of the
nature of television, is a one way comunication. So that really
wouldn't work too well in a video blogging context. Companies that
figure this out will go a long way to realizing the power of video
blogging.

Or maybe I'm just talking out my ass. You be the judge!!
